For the import and export of your language files you would need to define so called "File templates". You will find this function in Admin -> File templates.

Add a new file template by hitting the button "Add file template".

  1. Enter a name for your new file template as a unique description. Please note: this data is just for internal use and not used in any export function.
  2. Enter the folder structure inside the application you want to maintain and a file name. As a placeholder for the language abbreviations like EN or DE, use {LOCALE}. All languages you maintain in your oTranCe installation will export to this folder structure.
  3. Most applications want to place the license here, followed by the opening of the language array. Some placeholders (shown right in the table) will be replaced with the current values when exporting and iterating over all languages. The special placeholder TRANSLATOR_NAMES will hold a comma separated list of the translators, that worked on this language in a manner of translating > 0 keys. Of course you also can leave this header blank or even insert keys that are equal in all languages.

  4. In all language files you would have a multilang key that is used in your application's templates and declared here, in the language files. Also, there will be a value for the different languages. Enter this placeholders to the field "Generated content" to achieve well formatted files in your export. Everything you enter here, will appear for each key value you translated in export.
  5. The footer could be a closing array, credits to your translators and anything else we defined for the header of the file template.

Save your work now and add another file, for example for the front end GUI, of your application.
